Freemasonry in Wyoming 1860-2025
By David G. Darlington
The seminal years of Wyoming Masonry are intertwined with the final years of the American frontier. Wyoming Masons were a part of that frontier, including the Indian wars, vigilante justice, railroads, outlaws, cattle rustlers, and the Oregon Trail. Settlers followed, many of them Master Masons instrumental in building the farms, ranches, towns, and cities of the great state of Wyoming. This history is the story of these good men and their good works who lived the values of Masonry. Included are Masonic accounts from Wyoming’s early days, a summary of the duties and responsibilities of the Grand Lodge of Wyoming, constituent lodge histories, thoughtful contributions by Wyoming Masons, and biographies of the past grand masters since 1974.
